DIRECT TO FILM
101

Hey! Let’s walk through the Direct to Film (DTF) transfers with heat pressing process. Here’s how we get your designs onto your items:

STEP 1

DESIGN PREPARATION:

Creating the Design: We start by creating or prepping your design using graphic design software. We ensure your design is perfect and ready for printing.

STEP 2

PRINTING THE DESIGN

Printing on Film: Your design is printed onto a special transfer film using a printer with DTF inks. These inks are vibrant and can create detailed prints.

Applying Powder: After printing, we sprinkle a special adhesive powder onto the printed film while the ink is still wet. This powder helps the design stick to the fabric later.

STEP 3

CURING THE POWDER

Melting the Powder: The film with the powdered design goes through a curing process. We heat it just enough to melt the powder, which creates a sticky layer that will help the design adhere to the fabric.

STEP 4

PREPARING THE GARMENT

Positioning the Design: We place the garment or item onto the heat press. Then we position the transfer film with your design onto the garment, ensuring it’s perfectly aligned.

STEP 5

HEAT PRESSING

Transferring the Design: The heat press is then closed onto the garment with the transfer film. The combination of heat and pressure transfers the design from the film to the fabric. This step usually takes just a few seconds.

STEP 6

PEELING THE FILM

Removing the Film: After the heat press cycle, we let the garment cool for a moment and then peel off the transfer film. Your design is now beautifully transferred onto the fabric.

STEP 7

QUALITY CHECK

Inspecting the Print: We carefully inspect each item to make sure the design looks great and is properly adhered to the fabric, checking for any issues like misalignment or incomplete transfers.

Touch-ups: If needed, we do any touch-ups to ensure everything is perfect.

STEP 8

FINISHING TOUCHES

Final Curing and Pressing: To make sure the design is fully set and durable, we might give it another quick press with a protective sheet on top.

Folding and Packaging: Finally, we fold and package your items, getting them ready for delivery.
And that’s it! Now you know how we use Direct to Film transfers with heat pressing to get your custom designs onto your items. If you have any questions or want to start your own project, just let us know!
